I have my issues with B元 but it's gameplay is the improvement the series has needed over everything else. In short, if you're looking for a lengthy, enjoyable podcast game (don't listen to any of the dialogue! don't do it! mute that shit!) to get into on your shiny new console and are down for a loot game, this is a pretty decent option.
HOWEVER, this recommendation comes strictly as a podcast game. B元's gunplay is also pretty underrated imo. there's even a shitload of bright neon lights everywhere for those of you who just picked up TVs with HDR capability. the cel-shading really pops at 4K, and IQ is pristine in the way that many UE4 games are. still runs quite a bit better than it did on PC for me though, and at what i assume to be a higher resolution. it runs at a pretty solid 60, though i have noticed some stuttering and occasional dips when a shitload of alpha effects are on screen. having played about 10 hours or so of the PS5 version, though, i'm thoroughly enjoying B元, perhaps even more this time around. the boost to 60fps is the most significant difference of course, but it looks like textures and lighting received pretty big upgrades as well.Īs someone who played the game at launch on PC, i was never happy with how the game performed on a 2070 and burnt out on it after around 25 hours or so. For those that don't know, Borderlands 3 received a free PS5/XSX update at the launch of the two systems.
